Prof. Bassey Antia organized this lecture\u00a0 at the University of Western Cape about DTM. Bassey is an applied linguist and has been in conversation with me for a while. Applied linguistics is a discipline that looks at the interaction between language and social relations. Bassey and I have an ongoing dialogue about how the framework of DTM relates to applied linguistics. He and a colleague of him surprised me by organizing an intensive two day conference with experts from the University of Ghana on Tuesday and Wednesday on DTM and applied linguistics. It as an in-depth discussion on how to decolonize a discipline from the core. I look forward to continue this discussion on DTM in the future at the University of Ghana.<\/p>\n
