Sandew Hira was invited to speak at the fourth international conference on the prophet Mohammed (PBUHHF) in Sana’a, Yemen. Due to the security circumstances related to the war on Yemen, in-person attendance was not possible.
In my contribution to the conference I argue that humankind is at a crossroad in world history with the US/Zionist war against Palestine, Lebanon, Iran and Yemen. We might be entering a new phase in world history in which the old colonial world civilization imposed on humanity by the Global North will be replaced by a new world civilization that will be build from contributions from civilizations of the Global South. In order to promote the transition towards a new world civilization, intellectuals from different civilizational traditions should engage in discussions about the theoretical contributions that each civilization can make in building a new world civilization.
My paper is an effort to promote that conversation. It compares the contribution of Western and Islamic civilizations to knowledge production. It focuses on economic theory. You can download the paper here.
